Straight. To the point. Super fun!
This is such a great podcast! I binge listen to stuff like this at work, and tend to tune out at some point…. not with Check The Locks! The hosts are fun, have great chemistry and are not arrogant like some other true crime hosts can be. The topics hit close to home and you can truly relate to the stories. There isn’t a lot of speculation or deep analysis of what happened. Just a straight forward story and facts. It’s refreshing and captivating! Can’t wait for more episodes!!!

Can’t stop, won’t stop!!!
Omg! I love your show sooo much, I can’t stop listening! John and Olivia have work so seamlessly together on the pod it is easy to listen to! I also love that you just tell the stories and leave out to much extra chit chat. Hard to find a podcast that gets straight to the point that is enjoyable! ❤️❤️ thank you for making such an amazing podcast that is informative and fun to listen to!!

Probably the best review ever
Have loved every episode, and found myself Googling about each case after listening. Was thinking about the Taco Bell murder here in Bossier city while listening to the first episode and was glad it got a little shout out.
(Also never deterred me from their fine dining, YOLO.)
As far as deadbolt scale, cases involving victims with no real connection to the assailant, always a 10.
P.S., The killer nurse episode left me with the most questions!

Love the format of this podcast especially the deadbolt scale discussion afterwards. I’m a fan of Olivia from MAFS and now I’m a fan of both of you. Hopefully lots and lots of episodes to listen too in the future,

I am so excited I get to start at the ground floor with these two! They are awesome and do amazing research! I’m always so invested by the end that I want next weeks episode right away! Only downside is having to wait a week! But it is well worth It! Love y’all so much!

Your new binge listen!
Fans of true crime podcasts - and there are many of us! - will find "Check The Locks" John and Olivia the most succinct, easy-to-follow, straightforward story-telling hosts around. They don't stuff the narrative with unnecessary details; when John talked about his personal connection to one of the crimes and Olivia talked about her knowledge of New Orleans, it added to the context of the story without getting derailed. The episodes are the perfect length, too! Not so long that you get tired of them, and just long enough to get a great story. The check-the-lock-meter is a very cool bookend that closes each episode! Really glad I found this podcast ; I can't wait to hear more!

Amazing Ride!!!!!
I binged listened to all current episodes and I was gagging for more podcasts!!!! I absolutely love the energy between Olivia and John!!!! I felt like I was the third person in the podcast! I appreciate the fact checks and the many references to the time period these crimes were committed. It made me feel like I was a third person observing these crimes in motion. BRAVO!!!

First off let me congratulate you on telling stories with a conclusion. I hate when the case hasn’t been solved. Also thank you for the clean language! It’s hard to listen to some of the podcasts due to all the profanity! And having been a married at first sight fan of Olivia’s she rocks!

If you like true crime this is where it’s at!
I just started listening to check the locks with John and Olivia and I am so glad I stumbled across it! I love me some true crime and John and Olivia have picked some great real life stories that really keep you on the edge of your seat!! If you’re a true crime fan I really suggest listening to check the locks!! These to make a great pair and trust me you’ll be instantly hooked!

Anxiously waiting!!!
I have so enjoyed listening to the podcasts and am ready for more!!! I love that you do true crimes that are not always top nationwide stories! My heart was sadden by episode 5 that his family did not dig deeper and so thankful his body was found!

Super interesting show
I love the show. Wasn't really a big listeners of podcasts until I saw yours advertised on fb. Look forward to Mondays. I often work nights so usually listen to it on way home from work, so I tend to make sure the garage door goes all the way down on those mornings. Thanks for the show.

Definitely made me check the locks!
I listened to the first two episodes today and they were both told very well. I enjoy both of their voices, and I like that they do a little extra talking but they don’t ramble on excessively. Both episodes sent chills up my spine and made me check the locks!

Got me checking the locks!
I'm the first 3 episodes in and can't wait for the next one! I'm a long drive podcaster and was looking for a new one. Having been blessed to work with Olivia in Iowa, it's so great to hear your voice again.
Crime
I have listened to all three. They are so good. If you like true crime and obsessed like me. This is the podcast for you. John and Olivia do a great job describing each crime they tell. These are amazing. I may have check my locks and windows a time or too.

I’m hooked!
Absolutely love the podcast!! I’ve listened to all 3 episodes and I love that the cases that have been covered so far aren’t super over done.
We’ve all heard the Bundy story told with different voices if you know what I mean.
John and Olivia have great chemistry and really do their research! The Michigan episode hit super close to home(I mean not compared to John but….)because I lived in Westland at the time. Keep up the great work, I can’t wait for the next case!

LOVE IT!!
This is my new favorite! Just listened to the Michigan Thrill Kill. I remember when this happened. I live in Westland and my daughter was a Senior in 2007. So to think of her friends at that time made me riveted to the details. Great show! Love you guys . Can’t wait to hear more! 🫶🏼
